ABOUT THE HUB

TIP running HUB is new for 2018/19.

All past, present and future Team TIP runners and supporters are welcome.

A chance to meet with other runners of all abilities, be part of a friendly team supporting Time is Precious.

Our qualified coaches, will help you achieve your goal, whether it is couch to 5k, 10k, or half marathon.

There is no cost, just come along, get fit, enjoy & meet like minded people.

Reduced entry fee for Bath Half Team TIP, for anyone that comes along.

There are 2 TIP running HUBs. One meeting in the Midsomer Norton area, the other at Collett Park in Shepton Mallet.

Midsomer Norton HUB

We will meet every 2nd Sunday of the month at the Centurion Hotel, 9.30am, as well as monthly at a Park Run.

As you progress, we will change meeting places, so a chance to run different routes & slowly up the mileage.

There will also be walks, you can join us on at intervals, to gain your fitness.

Struggling for childcare? No worries! Whilst we are off road, you are welcome to bring them along. However, they must always be supervised by yourself.

The Next meet up Sunday 8th July at 9.30m

This will be followed by refreshments!!

 

 

Shepton Running HUB

Shepton Running HUB will be ran by  Matthew Chapman.

Every Thursday evening at Collett Park in Shepton Mallet. 7.30 to 8.30.

MEET OUR COACHES

Name: Laura Darby-Jones

AGE: 40

Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF)

Laura is currently a student at Bournemouth University in her second year of a Physiotherapy Bsc. She has enhanced DBS clearance for Spire Bristol, her school governor role, NHS and Love Rugby Coaching. Additionally she has mandatory NHS and SPIRE hospital qualifications including CPR and Safeguarding Level 3 for adults and children.

She loves supporting others with their sporting hobbies and careers, including running with girls who won the county X-Country. She has been a coach for Time is Precious in the Bath Half Marathon for last 4 years supporting many of our runners around the course.

 

JIM BARRON

AGE: 51

Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF)

In 2014 he joined Team TIP to raise funds & awareness for Time is Precious by doing  the KX365 challenge running a minimum 5k everyday for 365 days.

Jim has plenty of running experience, and has been supporting TIP runners for a number of years by helping them complete their first Half Marathons.

He has been running for fitness for many years competing in the 10th Bath Half Marathon in 1992 & have ran 7 since.

Jim has taken part in many different distances of competitive running from 5k to ultra marathon on road & cross country.

 

 

MIKE COTTLE

AGE: 35

Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF)

Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (QCF) – Gym-Based exercise and is currently Training towards Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

Mike also has plenty of running experience and has Completed 5 marathons – Vienna, Florence, Stockholm, Budapest & Rome.

He is a original member of Team TIP and has ran in every Bath Half that Time is Precious has been involved in.

MATTHEW CHAPMAN

Currently serving in the Army, at the age of nearly 50, Mat has recently qualified as a Leader In Running Fitness (LIRF) with enhanced DBS clearance and is very keen to share his enthusiasm for running with as many other people as possible.

Matt has created a RunTogether site, backed by England Athletics, to support and develop every level of runner from novice to experienced – the priority is to run as a group, develop our running, leading and volunteering skills but mostly to have FUN.
